Yeast: white labs east coat ale
Yeast Starter: 1.5 qt.
Batch Size: 5 us gallons
Original Gravity: 1.050
Final Gravity: 1.010
Alcohol Content: %
Total Grains: 6 lbs.
Color:
Extract Efficiency: 70 %
Hop IBU's: 35
Boiling Time: 60 min.
Primary Fermentation: 7 days @ 66F
Secondary Fermentation: 21 days @ 64F

Grain Bill:

3 lbs. extra light dry malt extract
5 lbs. 2-row
1 lbs. crystal 60L

Hop Bill:

2 oz. Spalt select 5.3 a.a.u. (60 min.)
1/2 oz. East kent goldings 6 a.a.u. (30 min.)
1/2 oz. East kent goldings 6 a.a.u. (10 min.)
1 oz. Fuggle 4.5 a.a.u. (0 min.)

Mash Schedule:

133F (30 min.)
155F (45 min.)
158F (20 min.)
170F (10 min.)

Brewers Notes:

very close to sam adams boston ale,in color, bittness, aroma and tase. One thing missing is diacetyl i taste in the sam adams version...next time im going to try an irish ale yeast.(or under pitch yeast)

i formulated this recipe using sam adams website and thier brewing specs,i.e. 1.048 og. 33 ibu's and types of hops they say they use.
