OK, where the hell is this place?

Well, that depends on where you are...

TWIN CITIES
If you are coming from the Twin Cities, then the fastest way is to head north on I-35 through Duluth and then cross over on the Blatnik Bridge (The second Wisconsin Bridge. The first is the Bong Bridge and that takes you through downtown Superior, a bloody pain in the ass.) The Blatnik Bridge connects you directly to U.S. Highway 2. Then head east on US 2 to Iron River, about 30 minutes. Go thorugh town. You are looking for East Long Lake Road. It is a couple miles east of Iron River. Turn to your left on the road. There is a sign with a RATFEST Banner underneath it next to the road. The campground is on the right hand side about a mile in.

NOTE TO DULUTH DRIVERS
If you are driving in from the airport, upon exiting from there, you will be on Haines Road. Go straight to Central Entrance and turn east (left) This will take you past the mall and lotsa shopping places. There are two ways of getting on the freeway. One is to head to five points. This is the right hand exit off the turnpike IMMEDIATELY at the east end of the Mall, next to North Star Ford. This can be a real nightmare in traffic. I don't recommend it. Ordinarily, you can take Mesaba Avenue, about three-four miles further on, but there is major construction and it is completely closed off. Instead you have to detour to about 24th Avenue and go down the hill... Look for the Freeway signs (Interstate) Be CAREFUL not to miss any signs or you will get lost. (I STILL get lost doing this.) In the event you DO get lost, Head to the lake. You want to get on Superior Street, which is Downtown Main Street. Traffic is always awful, but such is life. Take Superior headed southwest Right turn as you come off the hill (sorta) to get to the Freeway. Once you hit the freeway entrance, veer left, left, left, otherwise you will miss the exit to Wisconsin. Now this exit takes you to the Blatnick Bridge. Once on that, get on Highway Two east to Iron River and a couple of miles east of town is East Long Lake Road.

FROM CHICAGO: Take I-90 straight through past Madison, and cut over to I-51 at Portage. Take I-51 all the way to the end just south of Tomahawk. Then take US 51 up to Hurley. At this point, turn west on U.S. Highway 2 and head through Ashland towards Iron River About three miles before you get Iron River you will come upon a sign that says "TRI-LAKE TIMBERS RESORT AND CAMPGROUND" on the right hand side of the road. Underneath will be a sign that says "RATFEST" Turn Right on East Long Lake Road. Resort is about a mile down the road.
