I have locked us into 90 pounds of fresh (caught the day before) Lake Superior Whitefish chunks. Note Chunks, not fillets. Fillets are going to be in short supply because of a major commitment and the price went from $1.50 a pound to $2.75 a pound. However, Chunks, which are really the thickest part of the fillet are described as the best flavored and best consistancy of the entire fish. Plus they are just $1.50 a pound. Cost for fish is covered... Thank you VERY much Stout Don and Barney.... The meal will be served Friday night (or was that Saturday?) along with boiled Red 'Taters according to Hop's Secret recipie... (LOTSA SALT!!!) IF there are any volunteers who wish to provide tarter sauce, ketchup, cole slaw, paper plates and forks, they will be welcomed. I will provide large plastic bags as we MUST keep the grounds free of fish debris. (The campground has a closed metal dumpster.) Bears are generally not agressive, but one whiff of stale fish, and they will come a running... Usually in the middle of the night... Tent Campers note: It is in your best interests to insure that the grounds are kept clean DO NOT KEEP FOOD IN YOUR TENT... A word to the wise...
